Being in my mid-twenties, I feel like I’ve traveled to more places than most people my age. It may be my overwhelming urge to step foot on new territory with a wanderlust sense of adventure or how I make it a priority to always COLLECT MOMENTS throughout the year rather than things.
With most of my generation, conversations surrounding the topic of travel seem to be little to none. The top 3 things holding nearly all of us back from taking off on an airplane tomorrow is:
- Our mindset surrounding the idea of wealth
- Feeling unsafe away from home
- Money management skills haven’t been established… YET
How can you make exploring new destinations a norm for your family and you? — My advice would be to make it a prime concern to save money out of every paycheck received, even if it’s only $20. Your focus creates your reality and if saving money to finally go to one of the places on your bucket list is invigorating to you, then DO IT! Imagine the feeling of sand between your toes or the ocean crashing into the beach — You can probably guess that I would love to be on a coast or tropical island right now this moment. 🙂
As I recall, an older family friend advised me a few years back,
Travel the world young and do not wait until you’re retired as you won’t get the same experience.
There’s so much beauty on this planet. No matter what age you are, it’s never too late to step foot out of your hometown, open your eyes, and feel a brand-new sense of admiration.
